The Challenge
Live event power is fragmented, constantly shifting, and difficult to prove.
Every major event assembles a power system from scratch, across multiple Zones, suppliers and technologies. Demand changes throughout build, show and breakdown, while the need for resilience encourages conservative sizing and redundant capacity. Yet fuel, generation, storage and consumption are rarely measured as one connected system.
The result is excess fuel use, unnecessary carbon and local pollution, operating problems that are detected too late, and environmental claims that can be difficult to substantiate.

Presenters have made dated commitments.
Live Nation has committed to a 50% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse-gas emissions by 2030. Its UK festival arm, Festival Republic, states the same goal and says each show's Scope 1 and 2 footprint is measured and audited annually.

Claims need proof.
Substantiation is becoming a requirement.
UK guidance requires environmental claims to be clear, accurate and supported by evidence. New EU rules further restrict generic, offset-based and unsupported environmental claims, with full application beginning in September 2026.
